No powers or authorities

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nor any powers 

Aside from not having to fear that death or anything in this life, the supernatural or the present or the future will take away God's love for us, we also don't have to fear "any powers". No government can separate us from God's love. No matter how much we are persecuted, God is more than able to preserve and sustain his people. Take China for an example - the church in China is one of the most persecuted, but it is constantly growing. We will suffer for our faith, but that cannot 'unsave' us, it does not mean that God doesn't love us, and if we are truly his people than he will preserve us and keep us standing firm in the faith. Likewise no parents, no teachers, no police, can ever take us away from the salvation we have in Christ Jesus if we are truly God's people! '

We can have complete assurance that God has and will save us if we have genuinely repented and if we truly have our faith in him (Romans 10:9, Mark 1:15, Joel 2:32). Don't fear authorities! God sets them in place, he can depose them.

Daniel 2:20-21

“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.
He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning."

Take heart and praise God! Don't fear man, trust in our saviour and put on the full armour of God!
